Not inspired

Why do people put “inspirational” quotes in their professional email signatures? Just because you found a moderately insightful quote in someone’s Facebook profile doesn’t mean you have to shove it down my throat in each and every work-related correspondence we exchange. How about you change your email signature to something professional like, I don’t know, your job title and save the inspirational quotes for your annual Christmas newsletter.
