“It amazes me, absolutely amazes me, the number of Apple owners who lack the clarity or self-awareness to realize that purchasing a commodity from a enormous, soulless corporation that is also owned by several million other people doesn’t make you a unique and beautiful snowflake. Apple has a better PR campaign, better advertising and a more gullible, credulous customer base. That’s it. It’s got nothing to do with individuality or noncomformity. I know many people are probably saying that this is a completely banal thing to say but I am consistently astounded by otherwise smart people who will tell you different.”

Aww, sounds to me like someone wishes he had a Mac.
No saying they both can’t be right.
I agree with you. But I think this bitter PC is missing the point.
My Mac doesn’t make me feel like a “unique and beautiful snowflake.” It just makes me feel like I have a way better computer than my previous PCs that were constantly afflicted with viruses and spyware, not to mention countless hardware issues. It helps that my MacBook is aesthetically pleasing and more user friendly, but I didn’t buy it to make a statement about individuality. I realize that being a liberal yuppie with a MacBook makes me the worst kind of conformist. That’s ok with me as long as I don’t have to reinstall Windows every 6 months.
