Quentin Tarantino fans are insane: Part II
And Exhibit B:
Where…to begin? The movie opens with “once upon a time” which lets the audience know this is NOT reality but a fairytale. There has been no claim by Quentin or anyone associated with this movie that this film depicts is what really happened. Although there are stories of Jews and German officers who plotted to kill Hitler, I’m positive most of the world agrees on what happened to him, Goebbels and the rest of the Nazis at that time. To call anyone who may enjoyed this film uneducated for this reason is absolutely ridiculous and really just makes you look stupid in the process.
Secondly, Quentin has made it very clear in interviews and through characters in his films that he very much loves & respects women. Was this your first Tarantino film? If you had paid attention, you would have noticed that 1-women are not the only people who are killed in the movie and 2-that women are essential to the plot to kill Hitler. Even if the men hadn’t “storm in with their guns and show off how big their penises are” Hitler and everyone else still would have died from Shoshanna putting the plan in motion to trap them and burn them. The Basterds themselves would not have been there to begin with if the actress hadn’t gotten tickets for the Basterds to get into the theater.
For you to expect honorable characters in a movie called INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS is unbelievably laughable. You then take it a step further to ignore the fact that the characters understood and sacrificed themselves in order to kill Hitler & Co. which, in the context of the movie, would end the Nazi regime and the war. You say you are a former journalist but if you can not grasp the basic concepts of this movie, why should anyone want to read something you have written or will write in the future?
Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Oh, how I love Internet trolls who Google search their favorite directors and write hate-mail to bloggers who disagree with them about film.
Merry Christmas, haters! Get a life.
