Wow. Now I like Disney even less.
I agree with all of these except Belle. Homegirl had way more going on than her sexuality. She was smart, independent, and ultimately, she was the story’s hero. She took her father’s place in the Beast’s prison instead of letting a man rescue her. She wouldn’t give it up for the handsome, stereotypical “prince” character. Instead, she fell in love with a character completely atypical of the Disney prince stereotype. And in the end it wasn’t her sexuality, but her depth of feeling that saved the prince’s life.
But yes. Overall, Disney is way sexist.
