SMOKING GUN This is the original photo taken for the Beatles’ album, Abbey Road.  You’ll note that, unlike the LP’s artwork, Paul McCartney is… holding a cigarette in his right hand.  The doctored version, sans cigarette, appeared on both the album and in promotional posters, and was done without the Paul’s or the label’s permission.  (Photo: Apple Records via Time Magazine)
